Summer is quickly approaching (but it feels like it’s already been here for a bit). School is almost out and temperatures are climbing. If you’re looking for some great San Antonio summer camps for your kids, I’ve got a good round-up to get you started right here!
San Antonio Summer Camps
San Antonio Zoo Camps
The San Antonio Zoo offers variety of summer camp experiences for all ages.
For grades K-5th they have three different M-F camp options. Camps include Interesting Insects, Myth Busters, and It’s In The Stars. Each weeklong camp is offered four different weeks. Hours are 8am-3pm and the cost is $255/camper, with aftercare available until 4:30pm for an additional fee.
They also offer a Wild Careers camp for 6th-8th graders, where kids can learn more about zoo careers. This is also a M-F camp and it costs $360/camper. It is offered five different weeks through this summer season. Check out their page here for more information.
Doseum Summer Camps
The Doseum offers popular summer camp options for ages 3-4, 5-7, and 8-11. Their camps range from $230-$570 for a week, with the price being a bit lower for members than non-members. Most camps run M-F from 9am-3pm. Camps for the youngest kiddos are 9-12 with extended care options. Unfortunately, for this summer every single camp is already sold out AND the waitlist is at capacity. Lesson: if you want to try a camp at the Doseum, be ready to book it well in advance next year!
SeaWorld Summer Camps
SeaWorld San Antonio has a lot of summer camp options. Camps run M-F from 8:30-3:30. Their preschool camp is the exception, from 9-12. SeaWorld camps are split by age and include preschool (3-4), K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th. Their camps range from $229-$429 and they also offer extended care options. YMCA of Greater San Antonio Summer Camps
YMCA locations all around San Antonio offer a variety of day camps for kids age 5-13. There are different themes throughout the summer. Some camps are outdoors only and some are indoor/outdoor. YMCA camps offer a more affordable option than most listed here, with costs per week around $150 for members and $170 for non-members. They also offer sports camps that are not full days. San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department Camps
The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department provides a wide range of summer camps for children throughout the city. Ranging from options for ages six through 14, these camps include sports, arts and crafts, games, and field trips. Camps are offered at community centers throughout the city, and you can learn more about options here.
iD Tech Camps
Do you an older kid who’s interested in a STEM-focused camp? Hosted on Trinity University, iD Tech Camps focus on coding, game development, robotics and design. Camps are available for ages 7-17 and are one week long. This camp starts at $1029, but they have payment plans available. Explore more about iD Tech Camps here.
Camp Olympia
Finally, if you’re looking for a private overnight camp option, Camp Olympia may be for you. Camp Olympia is a traditional summer camp for ages 6-16 located just outside of San Antonio. They offer 1-week sessions for 6-9 year-old campers and two-week and three-week sessions for ages 7-16. They offer a range of activities, including swimming, kayaking, archery, horseback riding, and more. Campers can also participate in team sports, arts and crafts, and other fun activities.
